Weight Gain Action Plan
Finding and maintaining your ideal weight can be difficult for many people, especially in today’s image conscious world where what is healthy and good for you may not exactly match up with how you would like to look when on the beach (or even when fully clothed). While many people struggle with keeping excess weight off, a growing number of people desire to add a few pounds. The Weight Gain Action Plan is a series of recommendations on how to identify the reason for your inability to maintain a healthy weight, and how to take the appropriate steps to correct it. Remember, many causes may be serious and seeking a licensed physician’s advice is suggested in these cases.
For those who participate in sports, have begun working out or simply desire to add a few healthy pounds to your frame, these foods and supplements can make a significant difference in what you are able to achieve and how FAST you see results. Although many of these supplements are also useful in fat loss, it is only because they build muscle and detox the system. It is the other foods that we advocate adding to your diet that make the difference.
What is considered underweight?
To be considered underweight a person must be under what is considered a healthy weight relative to their size. In other words, an adult woman with a BMI (body mass index) below 19.1 and an adult male with a BMI (Body Mass Index) below 20.7 are considered underweight while any adult individual with a BMI below 17.5 is considered very underweight. In general, as with weight loss, purposeful weight gain may be acceptable within certain limits. We do not recommend excessive weight gain, which is as unhealthy as excessive weight loss.
Causes of being underweight:
There are many reasons for people to be underweight ranging from serious to not as much. Conditions such as eating disorders and disease are some of the most serious causes, along with hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid gland), colitis, and lupus. In addition, some of the non-disease related reasons include being a result of old age, a sedentary lifestyle, and/or the inability to properly chew food, which leads to incomplete digestion. Others who may need to gain weight healthfully include those with cancer and AIDS whose treatments impact weight dramatically.
Certain conditions may lead to low B.M.I and the condition of being underweight. The most common are listed below:
Hyperthyroidism
Inability to gain weight or build muscle mass when eating the same foods as others
Decreased transit time—complete digestion occurs in less than one and one-half days, which is a sign of malabsorption
Easily fatigued and irritable
Lack of concentration and an inability to thermoregulate Colitis
Blood in the stool
Excess gas, abdominal pain, and bloating Parasites
Visible parasites in stool
Age
Ability to properly chew is diminished causing the inability to extract nutrients from food to lead to mal-absorption
Treatment and Prevention:
Diet
Consume goat’s milk, bananas, avocados, hemp protein, nuts, and whole grains like brown rice plus beans and sweet potatoes. When consuming flesh, stick to free range fowl and line caught wild fish.
Consume multiple meals per day eating meat, carbohydrates, and dairy separate.
Practice thorough chewing to pre-digest all food thoroughly, no processed sugars or “white” foods, no carbonated beverages, and no gluten.

1.Up to 1 quart of raw goat’s milk- try in smoothies, cereal, or whipped over fruit
2.1-2 bananas- try in cereal with goat milk, with agave syrup, or with nut butter
3.1-2 avocados- try spreading on toast or as guacamole, also great in salad
4.Combo of beans and brown rice create complete proteins, as do hearty breads and nut butters
